It is always an unfortunate circumstance when property owners have to deal with water damage. When stumbling upon standing water, or discovering water damage in an area, find the source of the leakage and seal off the exit point. If you cannot find the source of the leak, contact a qualified party to do so for you. Next, turn off the circuit breakers that could be affected by wet areas that surround the building, so long as it is safe to access the power distribution panel without getting an electrical shock. If you are uncomfortable and unsure of what you should do in regard to water damage, call your local SERVPRO franchise for assistance.
